Srinagar, Jan 27: Cluster University Srinagar celebrated the 75th Republic Day with the main function held at its administrative block where Vice Chancellor, Prof. Qayyum Husain unfurled the national flag.
The Vice Chancellor accepted the Guard of Honour presented by NCC cadets and students with the national anthem being played in the backdrop. Those who attended the ceremony included Dean Academic Affairs, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Principals of constituent and affiliated colleges, Deans of various faculties, Sports Secretary, Coordinators of IG/PG pogrammes and Conveners of various committees besides the administrative staff of the university.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor referred to the significance of the day and reiterated the commitment of Cluster University to uphold the core values enshrined in the Constitution. He also stressed on the need to inculcate these values in the younger generation so that they become conscious of their duties towards the nation.
He also pledged unflinching support to the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat.
Prof. Qayyum also referred to series of initiatives and achievements of the country in the recent past, transforming all fields of life including higher education.
Pertinently, the constituent colleges of the university viz., Govt. College for Women; Amar Singh College; S.P. College; Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College and Institute of Advanced Studies In Education- also celebrated Republic Day with flag hoisting ceremonies led by respective principals.
