Bhaderwah, Oct 31: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Tuesday reiterated his commitment to ensure his politics is free of religion and only issues pertaining to public interest are highlighted.
Azad told his workers never to indulge in politics that is divisive, stokes communal flares and divides society, the party said in a statement.
“Our aim is to ensure we bring people together for peaceful and progressive Jammu and Kashmir. We can’t afford to indulge in politics of division since our party foundation is based on the same principles,” he said while addressing a workers meeting at Bhaderwah.
The DPAP chief said politics, which has a communal and divisive agenda, cannot thrive or serve people. He said Bhaderwah in particular and Chenab Valley in general is known for secular values and brotherhood. This brotherhood and unity deserves appreciation and people must retain it at all times, come what may, he said.
The former chief minister stressed meetings and public outreach among his workers and directed them to hold corner meetings and explain the agenda of the party to everyone. “We need to reach out to the people and explain to them our party agenda. So that more and more people are ready to join our mission,” he said.
Among others who attended the public meeting were G.M.Saroori Vice Chairman, Ab Majeed Wani Gen Secretary, Anita Thakur Gen Secretary, P.R.Manhas Zonal President, Asif Gattu Distt President, Prabha Salathia Mahila President, Sunita Arora Spokesperson, Javid Azad VP Zone, Arif Najar Block President, Pritam Kotwal Provincial Secretary, Sheikh Zaffarullah Gen Secretary Zone Chenab, Krishan Singh Manhas, Mohd Ashraf Goni and others.
