Jammu, Aug 29: Apni Party Provincial President Jammu Women Wing Pavneet Kour on Tuesday demanded the granting of houses and toilets to the poor families in Raipur in Satwari under government schemes.
Chairing a meeting here at Raipur, Satwari; Kour reviewed the developmental issues of the people in the locality who informed about the poor basic amenities, and the inability of the authorities to provide funds for the construction of houses, and toilets to the poor families.
In her speech, she said the poor families should be given funds for the construction of their houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), and toilets as per the government policy to the deserving families. She also demanded relaxation in electricity bills for poor families.
Kour expressed anguish over the installation of smart meters in Jammu that has overburdened the pockets of the people with excessive electricity bills. She demanded that the government review the decision to install the smart meters in Jammu which has invoked a strong response against its installation.
