Srinagar, Aug 18: As part of the ongoing outreach for farmers, a Kisan Sampark Abhiyan was on Monday organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Srinagar in Khonmoh Block, where Senior BJP Leader, Member Haj Committee of India & DDC Member Srinagar, Er Aijaz Hussain attended as the Chief GuestIn his address, Er Hussain highlighted the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and spoke in detail about various flagship schemes of the central government aimed at the welfare and upliftment of farmers. He urged the farming community to actively avail the benefits of these schemes for enhanced productivity, income generation, and sustainable agricultural growth.On the occasion, sanction letters under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) were distributed to aspiring farmers, enabling them to strengthen their initiatives in farming and allied sectors. The event witnessed the participation of hundreds of farmers, local PRI members, and officials from SKUAST-K, Agriculture Department, Finance Department, NABARD, and other allied institutions.Prominent dignitaries present included Prof Raihana Habib (Director Extension, SKUAST-K), Dr Shamim A. Simnani (Professor & Head, KVK Srinagar), General Manager Credits J&K Bank, District Lead Bank Manager, District Development Manager NABARD, Director RSETI Sonwar, Dr I.A. Mir (Scientist, KVK Srinagar), and the local DDC Member.Er. Aijaz Hussain reiterated the government’s commitment to empowering farmers at the grassroots level and assured continued support for strengthening the agriculture sector in Jammu & Kashmir. “Such platforms allow farmers to share their concerns, gain awareness, and avail the full benefits of central government schemes,” he said.On the occasion, the pamphlet for JKCIP schemes was launched and distributed among the farmers, so that they are well-versed with the incentives and formalities required from the department.
