Minor’s gang rape case : Kargil police arrest 9, one absconding: SSP Kargil 

Kargil, Aug 08: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kargil,  Ram R, IPS, on Friday confirmed the arrest of nine individuals in connection with a minor gang rape case, with one accused still absconding. The case has been registered under FIR No. 04 of 2025 at the Women Police Station, Kargil.Addressing a press conference, SSP Ram R said the offences fall under Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Section 126(2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), describing it as a grave incident of sexual abuse.He emphasised that such heinous crimes against women and children will be met with the “strictest legal action” and assured that the investigation is being conducted with urgency and sensitivity. “Every legal provision will be applied to ensure justice for the victim,” he stated.The SSP reiterated Ladakh Police’s zero-tolerance policy towards sexual offences and appealed to the public to report any cases of abuse without hesitation, assuring full confidentiality and protection for survivors and informants.
