Srinagar, Jul 31: National Conference (NC) Chief Spokesperson and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq on Thursday paid obeisance at the revered shrine of Sultan-ul-Arifeen Hazrat Sheikh Hamza Makhdoom Sahib (RA).He reviewed the arrangements for the forthcoming Urs Mubarak, emphasising the importance of coordinated efforts among civic and administrative bodies to ensure smooth observance of the spiritual occasion, the party said in a statement issued here.During the visit, Tanvir held on-ground assessments with officials from Power Development Department (PDD), Public Health Engineering (PHE), Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), City drainage, the Waqf Board, and other concerned departments. He stressed the timely completion of cleaning, illumination, water supply, drainage, and crowd management plans to facilitate devotees visiting the shrine.Speaking on the occasion, Sadiq reaffirmed his commitment to public service and grassroots development. “Our spiritual heritage is the soul of our identity, and serving the people is its true reflection. I’m committed to ensuring that development, civic infrastructure, and public well-being go hand in hand. Cleanliness, accessibility, and timely action will remain my constant priorities,” he said.Hazrat Sheikh Hamza Makhdoom Sahib (RA), Sadiq said, is not just a spiritual guide but a symbol of Kashmir’s soul. “His teachings of compassion, unity, and humility continue to illuminate our path. Visiting his shrine is a moment of deep reflection and a reminder of our responsibility to uphold the values he lived by. It is our collective duty to preserve and honour this sacred space with dignity and devotion,”
he said.Accompanied by Youth District President Srinagar Irshad Ahmad Anchari, Block President Adil Chowdhary, and the party’s local unit functionaries, Tanvir interacted with the locals, listened to their issues, and directed immediate redressal of genuine concerns on the spot.As part of his ongoing constituency outreach, the MLA also visited Nehru Park on Boulevard Road and multiple ghats along the Dal Lake. During these visits, he met with residents and stakeholders to understand their problems firsthand and took swift action to address civic and infrastructure-related grievances.
