Srinagar, June 17: Bharatiya Janata Party J&K General Secretary (Org) Ashok Koul on Monday said that under the “dynamic” leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the traders in Jammu and Kashmir have experienced a positive transformation.
Following the abrogation of Article 370, the region has witnessed a remarkable absence of curfews and hartals, and not a single business has been forced to shut down, he said while addressing a Vyapari Sammelan in Amar Singh Club Srinagar, where he engaged with the trade, commerce, and industry segments of the region. The program was held in connection with the momentous occasion of the “Nau Saal Bemisaal”, marking the “successful” completion of ‘9 years of the Modi government’ at the Centre.
In his address, Koul highlighted the “significant advancements” witnessed in the trading sector of Kashmir over the past years. “The traders of Kashmir expressed their appreciation for the ground-level work undertaken by the Modi government and acknowledged that the trading environment in the region has remained peaceful,” Koul said. “This unprecedented progress can be sustained and further enhanced by casting votes in favor of the BJP in the upcoming elections.”
“We have witnessed a significant shift in the trading landscape of Kashmir in recent years. The absence of curfews and hartals, coupled with the smooth functioning of businesses, is a testament to the remarkable leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” the BJP leader said. “We urge all traders and entrepreneurs who seek continued progress and a favorable business environment to support and vote for the BJP. Together, we can ensure uninterrupted growth and prosperity in Jammu & Kashmir.”
Minister of State & Chairperson J&K Waqf Board, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi in her address said, “Our business community suffered a lot during three-decade-long turmoil in Kashmir and their future had become bleak due to the support of the earlier rulers to the violence brigade who disrupted our lives.”
“But Narendra Modi came as a redeemer who helped us in coming out of the death trap of terrorism and dynastic exploitation. Now we are living in a peaceful Kashmir where life has started blooming again,” she said.
“After the restoration of peace, businesses have flourished again, tourism has picked up, and jobs are now available to thousands of youth; this is all because of Modiji’s vision of J&K,” Dr Andrabi said.
BJP spokesperson Abhijit Jasrotia and District President Srinagar Adhok Bhat were also present at the event.
The Vyapari Sammelan organized by District President Sringar Ashok Bhat served as a platform for fruitful discussions and meaningful interactions between the BJP and the trade community of Jammu & Kashmir, the party said in a statement, adding that the event highlighted the party’s commitment to promoting business development and fostering a peaceful and prosperous environment for the traders in the region.
