Handwara, July 26: In a meaningful effort to pay tribute to the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a debate competition was organised today by District Police Handwara at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Handwara. The event focused on the life, role and ideology of Sardar Patel—popularly known as the Iron Man of India.
According to a statement issued here, a large number of students from various institutions actively participated in the competition, expressing their views on Patel’s contribution to India’s freedom struggle, his leadership qualities, and his efforts in unifying the nation post-independence.
The participants highlighted Patel’s values of discipline, unity, and national integration, inspiring the audience to reflect on the importance of strong and selfless leadership in nation-building.
During the event, SSP Handwara, Shri Mushtaq Ahmad Chowdhary-JKPS addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to follow the ideals of nation building espoused by Sardar Patel. He emphasised the importance of youth engagement in nation-building and praised the students for their insightful speeches. He also reiterated the role of police in promoting educational and patriotic initiatives among the younger generation.
