Srinagar, July 12: As a part of employment initiative, 237 youth from Jammu Division were handed appointment letters under the Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Mela on Saturday. The event was organised by the Northern Railway at the Convention Centre, as part of the 16th nationwide edition of the job fair.On the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the country through video conferencing and distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates in various Central Government departments and ministries across India.

The Jammu leg of the event saw the distribution of appointment letters by Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasada, and Jammu Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma.Addressing the event, DRM Vivek Kumar emphasised that the Rozgar Mela reflects the Prime Minister’s vision of “Rozgar for All.” He said the programme is designed to empower youth, enable self-reliance, and encourage greater participation in the nation-building process.Kumar added that all newly appointed candidates will undergo online orientation training through the “Karmayogi Prarambh” module to help them become efficient and effective in public service.Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Division, told Rising Kashmir that the 237 beneficiaries from Jammu included newly inducted personnel from various departments, such as Railways, Postal Services, Border Security Force (BSF), and Health.“This was the first job fair conducted under the leadership of Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Vivek Kumar since the formation of the Jammu Division. The job fair, launched nationwide, aims to fast-track recruitment and deliver on the government’s commitment to providing employment opportunities to the youth,” he said.Singhal also highlighted the significance of the initiative in boosting local employment and empowering youth in the region.
