Srinagar, June 17: The Jammu and Kashmir government has set up a committee for a short term review of the Srinagar Master Plan 2035.
As per the order, the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir will chair the panel with Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation and the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar as members.
The Vice Chairman, Srinagar Development Authority will serve as Member Secretary.
Other members as per the order will include Vice Chairman, J K Lake Conservation and Management Authority, the Chief Town Planner, Town Planning Organisation Kashmir, and a representative of the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs not below the rank of Additional Secretary.
According to the order, the committee will examine the feasibility of Town Planning Scheme (TPS) areas and identify any such areas, if required, for lifting the current pre condition on issuing building permits there.
It will also review court directions related to buffer zones around Dal and Nigeen lakes and propose amendments to the Master Plan Srinagar 2035 to include those directions.
