Jammu, May 14: Professor Eswaramoorthy Muthusamy from the School of Mechanical Engineering, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), made a significant mark at the international conference on “Recent Trends in Mechanical Engineering,” held at the College of Engineering Adoor, Government of Kerala. The event, organised by the NBA-accredited Department of Mechanical Engineering, brought together experts from top global institutions.
Prof. Muthusamy presented a research paper titled “Recent Development in Thermal Management of Modern Electronic Devices”, offering a comprehensive review of current strategies and advancements in managing heat in compact and high-performance electronic systems. The presentation explored state-of-the-art cooling technologies, challenges in the domain, and emerging materials used to enhance device reliability and lifespan. Key highlights of the research included the use of advanced materials such as graphene, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and phase change materials (PCMs); micro- and nanoscale cooling methods like microchannel heat sinks and nanofluids; and artificial intelligence-based smart thermal regulation. The study particularly emphasised the relevance of flexible thermal solutions for wearable devices and energy-efficient electronic systems. The session garnered strong interest, especially on the application of flexible and intelligent phase change materials in preventing device overheating and failure. Prof. Muthusamy’s participation elevated SMVDU’s standing in interdisciplinary research on thermal management and electronics.
