Jammu, May 07: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President, Raman Bhalla on Wednesday visited border areas in RS Pura to boost the morale of residents and review preparations for potential retaliation from Pakistan after India’s air strikes on terrorist camps. He praised the Indian Air Force for Operation Sindoor, which avenged the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians.
Bhalla’s visit aimed to show solidarity with border residents and assess the situation’s preparedness, a statement issued here said, adding that the visit demonstrated the party’s commitment to supporting those affected by the conflict.
Bhalla hailed the successful accomplishment of “Operation Sindoor”, a military operation conducted by the Indian Army that targeted terrorist infrastructure deep inside Pakistan. The Indian Army hit 9 high-value terror targets associated with groups responsible for the Pahalgam attack.
“The operation marked a significant military engagement between India and Pakistan, showcasing India’s assertive stance in responding to cross-border terrorism,” he said, adding that the nation stands united in support of the security forces and backs the government’s efforts to eliminate terrorist camps in Pakistan.
Bhalla highlighted the nation’s solidarity with the brave security forces. He said the Congress party supports government actions aimed at eliminating terrorist camps in Pakistan. “The ultimate goal is to establish enduring peace in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
The Congress leader said it is important to stop Pakistan’s proxy war to protect precious lives. He expressed confidence in the capabilities of India’s security forces, saying they are trained and equipped to effectively respond to Pakistan’s provocations.
The security forces can teach Pakistan a “lifelong lesson” for its misadventures on the Indian border, he added.
Bhalla expressed faith in the capabilities and training of India’s security forces. He said the security forces are equipped to effectively respond to Pakistan’s actions.
The JKPCC leader said, “Pakistan’s economic struggles make a direct fight with India a daunting prospect. Given the significant disparity in GDP and military spending between the two nations, Pakistan might struggle to sustain a prolonged conflict.”
He added, “Given India’s military capabilities and strategic advantages, Pakistan could suffer devastating losses in the event of a war, potentially altering the country’s landscape and future.”
Bhalla strongly condemned Pakistan’s actions of targeting civilian areas and religious places, resulting in casualties, particularly in the Poonch district. He urged the administration to ensure foolproof arrangements to address any eventuality amid Pakistan’s intense shelling from across the border. He expressed deep concern for the safety and well-being of civilians in the affected areas.
The Congress leader asked the administration to make comprehensive arrangements to meet any eventuality and ensure public safety.
