Jammu and Kashmir Police have taken cognizance of a sexual assault Incident which happened in Nishat area Srinagar.
A Police spokesperson said that Srinagar Police has taken cognizance of a reported incident of sexual assualt of a woman near Water Works Road, Nishat, who sustained grievous injuries and was later declared brought dead at the hospital.
FIR under relevant sections of law stands registered in PS Nishat and four accused persons involved in the commission of crime have been arrested.
Further investigation is ongoing. District Police Srinagar remains committed to justice and public safety, he said.
