Jammu, April 27: Gymnastic Federation of India is abuzz with excitement as two of its finest gymnasts, Rudraksh Khanna and Muthum Romesh, showcased their exceptional talent at the Suzuki Aerobics Gymnastics World Cup 2025.
The prestigious event, organized by the Federation Internationale de Gymnastics (FIG) and the International Aerobics Federation, Japan, saw participation from 19 countries. Rudraksh Khanna from J&K delivered a remarkable performance, securing 4th place in the Youth Individual Men category finals. Muthum Romesh also impressed with his skills, finishing 6th in the Junior Individual Men category finals. The athletes received congratulations from prominent figures, including Sudhir Mittal, President of the Gymnastics Federation of India, Kaushik, officials from the Sports Authority of India, Kiran Wattal, President of the Gymnastic Association of J&K and Vice President GFI. Kiran Wattal acknowledged the invaluable support provided by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, particularly Commissioner Secretary Youth Services and Sports Sarmad Hafeez and Secretary of the Sports Council Nuzrat Gul besides liberal funding from the PM Modi government, enabling the development of state-of-the-art infrastructure and training facilities for gymnasts. The six-member Indian Aerobic Gymnastics team, accompanied by coaches and officials Dr. Makarand Joshi and Yamanam Ranjan, participated in the event.
The Suzuki Aerobics Gymnastics World Cup 2025 provided a platform for gymnasts from around the world to showcase their skills, and J&K’s gymnasts made their mark on the global stage. The outstanding performance of Rudraksh Khanna and Muthum Romesh is a testament to the growing talent in country and in Jammu and Kashmir’s gymnastics community. The Gymnastic Association of J&K looks forward to continued success and growth, thanks to the support of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah led government and sports authorities.
