Srinagar, Apr 26: Vehicular movement on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway will remain suspended on Sunday to facilitate repair and widening work on the road.
The Traffic Police J&K, as per an advisory, said that to ensure the safety and well-being of the general populace, travellers, and drivers, and on the request of the NHAI, the District Magistrate Ramban, vide order no. ADMR/97-110 dated 26-04-2025, has accorded permission to the NHAI for widening the damaged road and undertaking necessary repairs.
“In view of the above, traffic will remain suspended between Nashri and the NAVYUG Tunnel from 08:00 AM on 27-04-2025 (Sunday) to 08:00 AM on 28-04-2025 (Monday),” the advisory reads.
The advisory further added that there will be no movement of any kind of vehicle after 1700 hrs today, 26-04-2025, from Qazigund towards Jammu and from Udhampur towards Srinagar.
“Load carrier operators carrying fresh perishables/live stock are advised to load their vehicles accordingly. People are requested to please contact TCU Jammu (0191-2459048, 0191-2740550, 9419147732, 103), TCU Srinagar (0194-2450022, 2485396, 18001807091, 103), TCU Ramban (9419993745), and TCU Udhampur (8491928625) before starting their journey on NH-44 on 28-04-2025 to avoid inconvenience,” the advisory added.
