Awantipora, Apr 11: In a decisive move to align with evolving quality benchmarks, DIQA held an intensive workshop on NAAC reassessment under the newly introduced Binary Accreditation Framework (BAF).
The session galvanized all departmental Nodal Officers, equipping them with insights to navigate the paradigm shift in accreditation norms.
Centered on the theme “Sustaining Strengths, Bridging Gaps,” the workshop dissected the BAF’s transformative approach—replacing traditional grading with a binary (accredited/not accredited) outcome, hinged on stringent quality indicators. The dialogue underscored the urgency of consolidating institutional merits while addressing critical gaps to secure accreditation.
Dr. Peer Bilal Ahmad, Director DIQA, inaugurated the proceedings, framing the BAF as both a challenge and an opportunity. “This framework demands precision, accountability, and a cultural shift toward outcome-centric education,” he asserted.
Deputy Directors DIQA followed with incisive breakdowns of the BAF’s pillars—documentation rigor, performance metrics, and evidence-based assessments. A hard-hitting segment analyzed the university’s Cycle-II NAAC Assessment & Accreditation (A&A) report, spotlighting Key Indicators (KIs) with subpar scores. This forensic review pinpointed systemic shortfalls, from research output gaps to infrastructural lapses, and spurred candid discussions on corrective strategies.
The workshop’s interactive pulse saw Nodal Officers probe ambiguities, share cross-departmental solutions, and forge consensus on streamlining compliance. The collective resolve mirrored the institution’s pledge to not just meet but redefine accreditation standards.
Closing the session, Director DIQA rallied stakeholders with a call to “transform introspection into action,” pledging DIQA’s unwavering support in the reassessment drive. The workshop ended on a note of cautious optimism, with attendees committing to elevate preparedness and cement the university’s stature as a vanguard of quality education.
