Srinagar Oct 30: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee on Monday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a J&K Police officer in the Eidgah area of Srinagar and a non-local in the Pulwama district, leading to the death of the latter.
JKPCC Chief Vikar Rasool Wani condemned the frequent terror attacks on security forces personnel, and J&K Police and targeted-killing of civilians including non-locals in strongest words, terming it as an “utter failure of the BJP government”. The security situation has deteriorated to a large extent, attributing to the fear of psychosis amongst the common people including non-locals, he said.
“Ironically, the government is claiming normalcy while our security forces are sacrificing their lives in the line of duty fighting against terrorism which has revived again due to the failures of the BJP government at the Centre,” he added.
Wani added, “We all are united against terrorism and stand behind our brave soldiers, security forces and JKP personnel,” he said.
Vikar urged the government to take immediate measures to curb terrorism and also questioned the tall claim by the BJP on the return of normalcy in J&K.
The JKPCC Chief expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of the slain non-local and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured JKP officer.
