Samba, March 26: The Department of Chemistry, SPPND Government Degree College (GDC) Samba, under the patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, organised a two-day industrial visit to UPL Limited, Phase-1, Samba, offering students first-hand exposure to the agrochemical industry as part of their academic curriculum.
The visit provided students with practical insights into chemical manufacturing, bridging classroom learning with real-world applications. They engaged with UPL’s technical experts, including Atul Kumar Verma (Safety Head), Ram Gopal (Quality Head) and Ponnusamy Pillai (Unit Head), who shared their expertise on agrochemical production, quality control and industrial safety protocols.
Students also explored state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, gaining valuable knowledge about manufacturing processes, research and development, and modern industry practices. Associate Professor Rashi Gupta, Head of the Department of Chemistry, expressed gratitude to UPL Agrochemical Industry for providing this invaluable learning experience, enabling students to understand the practical applications of chemistry in industry.
