Vijaypur, March 25: The Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur Tuesday organised special lectures for trainees currently undergoing the three-month Upper-Class Course at the institute on Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and (UAPA).
Two guest speakers addressed the trainees–Subash Chander Gupta, retired District and Sessions Judge, delivered a lecture on UAPA cases, explaining the key provisions, significance, and purpose of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Pawan Khajuria, retired Joint Director Prosecution, discussed the importance of FIRs and remand under the new criminal laws amended in 2023, focusing on the evidentiary value of FIRs under BNSS and the latest regulations governing their registration.
The session was attended by trainees and staff of the institute. Dushyant Sharma, SSP and Principal of PTTI Vijaypur, emphasised that the lectures aimed to enhance awareness among police personnel about UAPA cases and FIR procedures, equipping them with crucial legal knowledge for their future postings. He extended his gratitude to both guest speakers for their valuable insights. Among others, the event was attended by Raj Kumar, Senior Prosecuting Officer, Davinder Gupta, Deputy SP (Outdoor) and Khushwant Singh, Deputy SP (Administration).
