Udhampur, March 3: Under the esteemed patronage of Principal Dr Sanjay Verma, the Road Safety Club, in collaboration with the NSS Units of Government Degree College (GDC) Udhampur, Monday organised a first aid training session for students.
The session was conducted by Suresh Kumar, Senior Pharmacist at the college, and expertly coordinated by Prof Anoksha, Prof Rajesh Singh, Prof Tania Mahajan, Dr Jasmeet Kour, and Prof Sanjeet, alongside NSS Programme Officer Dr Gurpreet Kour.
Aimed at equipping students with vital life-saving skills, the training provided hands-on experience in handling medical emergencies, administering first aid, and responding effectively to critical situations. Key topics covered included bandaging, wound management, CPR and basic life support techniques. Students actively participated in practical demonstrations, gaining confidence in providing immediate care before professional medical assistance arrives. Real-life scenarios were discussed to highlight the importance of quick decision-making in emergencies. The college remains committed to promoting health awareness and safety among students, reinforcing its dedication to equipping them with essential life skills beyond academics.
