Srinagar, March 02: After Kashmir valley witnessed much needed snowfall, there has been a notable increase in tourist arrivals at various destinations within the region.

Babu Lal Seth, a visitor from Maharashtra, shared with Rising Kashmir that this is his first trip to the Kashmir Valley, accompanied by his family.

“We have planned a six-day stay in the Kashmir Valley. We will be visiting Gulmarg, as well as Doodhpathri and Sonmarg, where we intend to spend a few days,” Seth said.

He said that tourists can engage in a variety of snow activities and enjoy the Gondola ride, which is a major attrac-tion for those visiting Gulmarg. “There are numerous tourist spots in the Kashmir Valley that should be explored dur-ing the winter season.”

Swati, a female tourist from Odisha, expressed that she spent the night in Gulmarg and had the opportunity to see the stunning Drug waterfall in the Tangmarg area, which she described as one of the best experiences of her life.

“I also had an ATV ride, and our tourist guide took photos of us and assisted throughout our trip in Gulmarg. I came with my brother and sister to the Kashmir Valley, and we have also visited Sonmarg and Srinagar. We plan to visit Pahalgam as well. We feel fortunate to experience snowfall in the Kashmir Valley for the first time in our lives, and we thoroughly enjoyed it,” Swati remarked.

She noted that the people of the Kashmir Valley are very supportive and helpful. “I did not feel as though I was away from home; it felt like I was with family, as the locals treat tourists like family members,” she added.

Swati concluded by stating that upon returning to her hometown, she will recommend to her relatives, friends, and neighbors that they visit the Kashmir Valley, as it is one of the most beautiful places in the world that everyone should explore in their lifetime.

An official from the tourism department said that the influx of tourists to various destinations in the Kashmir Valley has risen as a result of the recent snowfall.
