Srinagar, Feb 28: Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar and Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam have expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Dr Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi, father-in-law of Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq.
Both organisations held a joint condolence meeting and extended heartfelt condolences to Mirwaiz, his family and the Masoodi family, the Auqaf said in a statement issued here.
The meeting was attended by Anjuman Auqaf’s Vice President and Imam Hai of Jama Masjid, Syed Ahmad Saeed Naqshbandi, Auqaf’s General Secretary Khwaja Altaf Ahmad Bhat, General Secretary of Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam Khurshid Ahmad Qadri, along with members and staff of both organisations, the statement said. “Late Sibtain Sahib was remembered for his contributions as a physician, his professional excellence and his lifelong humanitarian service, which earned him deep respect in society.”
The participants expressed condolences to the deceased’s sons, Murtaza Masoodi and Yahya Masoodi, his brothers Syedin Masoodi, Saqlain Masoodi and Hasnain Masoodi, his son-in-law Ayub Afzal Khan and all bereaved family members. They prayed for the elevation of his soul and strength and patience to the bereaved family.
