DSEK issues preparatory guidelines
Srinagar: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) on Saturday issued instructions for the reopening of schools after the winter vacation in the Kashmir Division.
The Director of School Education Kashmir announced that schools will reopen on 1st March 2025, following the winter break, and stressed that the event should be celebrated as a welcome occasion.
The DSEK has instructed all heads of educational institutions to adhere to these guidelines.
“The reopening of schools should be celebrated in a festive atmosphere to create an inviting and conducive environment for students,” the Director said.
He further emphasized that heads of institutions must ensure comprehensive preparation, including the development of an institutional plan, timetable, sanitation, and other logistics, well in advance of the reopening.
“The heads of institutions will be responsible for ensuring that all necessary arrangements, such as minor repairs and retrofitting (if required) for drinking water, electricity, toilets, window panes, etc., are completed before the schools reopen,” he added.
Additionally, DSEK has directed all school heads to ensure that the Biometric/JK Attendance Portal is functioning and updated with the current staff list.
“The school premises must be kept neat, clean, and decorated in a festive manner,” he said.
The Director also mentioned that Complex/Cluster Heads should hold sensitization sessions with their respective cluster schools to ensure all concerned parties are prepared for the reopening, in line with the issued instructions.
