Srinagar, Feb 14: On the 6th anniversary of the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, heartfelt tributes were paid to the 40 CRPF soldiers who lost their lives. A wreath-laying ceremony was held by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), J&K Zone, at the Martyr’s Memorial in Lethpora, Pul-wama, South Kashmir.The ceremony was attended by Additional Director General (ADG) of CRPF, J&K Zone, Rajesh Kumar, IG CRPF Kashmir Ops Sector, IG CRPF Srinagar Sector, In-spector General of Police Kashmir Zone, VK Birdi, senior Army officials, and civil administra-tion representatives.
“A wreath-laying ceremony, followed by a blood donation camp, was held at CRPF Lethpora,” said a CRPF spokesman. “At Lethpora, where the echoes of bravery still linger, we bow in rever-ence to our bravehearts, whose courage knew no bounds. We stand with their families, bound by duty, honor, and an unbreakable promise: they will never be forgotten.”
The ceremony included a two-minute silence, followed by a blood donation drive, led by ADG Rajesh Kumar. Over 100 personnel, including senior officials, participated in the drive.
Rahul Kumar, a CRPF jawan, said, “In honor of our fallen brothers in the Pulwama attack, we donate this blood as a symbol of our unwavering commitment to the nation. Terror may take lives, but our spirit remains unshaken. Their sacrifice was not in vain.”
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also paid tribute to the martyrs. “Their supreme sacrifice in the service of the motherland will forever be remembered. The courage and selfless commitment of our gallant heroes will continue to inspire generations,” he said.
On February 14, 2019, a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a CRPF bus, part of a convoy traveling from Jammu to Srinagar. The attack killed 40 CRPF personnel and led to an Indian airstrike in Balakot, Pakistan, escalating tensions between the two countries.
