Srinagar, Jan 06: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) has appointed senior leader and social activist, Mohammed Ashraf Mattoo as Secretary for the Central Zone, reinforcing its grassroots engagement.
“Mattoo, known for his dedication to social causes and political expertise, played a key role in the party’s recent electoral success. Recognising his deep understanding of the region, the party has entrusted him with strengthening operations and promoting inclusive development,” the JKNC said in a statement issued here.
Expressing gratitude, Mattoo said, “I thank Farooq Sahab, Omar Sahab, and the party leadership for this responsibility. My priority is to work with members and constituents for the people’s welfare.”
Party members welcomed his appointment, seeing it as a step toward political stability and social justice. His leadership is expected to strengthen the party’s presence in the Central Zone.
