Srinagar, Jan 03: The two day-long e-Office User Level Training program for faculty and non-teaching staff concluded on Friday at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar. The initiative aimed to enhance digital capabilities and streamline administrative processes within the institution.
The training sessions were conducted by Himanshu Mathur from the National Informatics Centre (NIC), a key organization driving digital transformation initiatives in India. The program witnessed active participation from faculty members and administrative staff.
The event was attended by Institute’s Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman, senior faculty members and administrative staff of the NIT Srinagar.
In his key speech, Prof Rehman said that the e-Office platform, an integral part of the government’s Digital India initiative, is designed to replace manual and paper-based workflows with a digital framework.
He emphasized the importance of adopting modern digital tools to ensure seamless operations and align the institution with the government’s vision of a digitally empowered India.
Prof. Rehman said that the implementation of the e-Office system would not only optimize administrative functioning but also contribute to reducing environmental impact by minimizing paper usage.
During the session, attendees were introduced to essential features such as document management, file tracking, e-signatures, and real-time communication tools. These tools aim to improve efficiency, ensure transparency, and reduce delays in institutional processes.
Participants expressed their gratitude for the comprehensive training session, appreciating its practicality and relevance to their daily work. Many stated that the training would significantly enhance their efficiency and simplify routine tasks, particularly in managing files and correspondence.
The two-day training sessions concluded with question-answer discussion on the challenges of transitioning to a digital framework, with the resource person addressing queries and providing solutions to common issues.
Meanwhile NIT Srinagar is planning to conduct additional training workshops to ensure smooth implementation of the e-Office system across all departments.
These training workshops will help employees deepen their understanding of the platform and address any challenges during the transition to a fully digital framework.
