Srinagar, Dec 09: The Omar Abdullah-led Jammu and Kashmir government has assigned four districts to each sitting Cabinet minister to ensure better coordination, effective implementation of development programs, and closer monitoring of public services.
As per the order, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Chaudhary has been tasked with overseeing Jammu, Poonch, Anantnag, and Shopian districts to enhance governance and development in these regions.
Sakeena Masood Itoo, Minister for Health and Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education, and Social Welfare, will be responsible for Kupwara, Srinagar, Kathua, and Samba districts to ensure streamlined public welfare services.
Javid Ahmad Dar, Minister for Agriculture, Rural Development, Cooperatives, and Elections, has been entrusted with Ganderbal, Budgam, Kishtwar, and Ramban to monitor rural progress and agricultural programs.
The Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, Transport, IT, Youth Services, and ARI & Trainings will oversee development in Reasi, Udhampur, Kulgam, and Bandipora districts to focus on essential services and infrastructure improvement.
The assignments, as per the order, are expected to boost better coordination among departments and address local concerns effectively.
