Budgam, Dec 07: The newly completed clock tower in the main town of Beerwah, located in the Central Kashmir Budgam district, has emerged as a significant historical landmark.
Zamir Ali, the Executive Officer of the Municipal Committee Beerwah, informed Rising Kashmir that the Urban Local Bodies Department initiated the construction of the clock tower to enhance the aesthetic appeal of Beerwah Main town.
“The Roads and Buildings Department of the Beerwah Division is the executing agency for this clock tower project. The construction work on the clock tower is nearing completion,” Executive Officer said.
Ali noted that visitors from various surrounding villages are now frequenting Beerwah town to see the clock tower. Its uniqueness, as there are no other clock towers in the area, has made it a major point of interest for the community.
“In our efforts to further beautify the clock tower, we plan to undertake some minor enhancements in its vicinity to make it even more appealing to visitors,” Ali added.
Farooq Ahmad, one of the visitors said that this marks the first time a clock tower has been built in Beerwah Main town’s history.
“People are taking photos and videos in front of the clock tower. The community is very pleased with its construction in Beerwah, and it has become a significant attraction for those who have never seen a clock tower before, ” Ahmad said.
