Srinagar, Dec 06: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kashmir Unit on Friday paid homage to Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, on his 69th death anniversary. A ceremony took place at the party headquarters in Jawahar Nagar here where BJP workers gathered to honour his legacy.
The tribute ceremony was marked by the laying of floral wreaths and a brief commemorative speech highlighting Dr Ambedkar’s monumental contributions to the upliftment of the marginalized sections of society and his pivotal role in shaping India’s democratic framework, the party said in a statement issued here, adding that BJP workers from all across the region participated in the event, reaffirming their commitment to his ideals of social justice, equality and empowerment.
Speaking on the occasion, a BJP spokesperson highlighted Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s enduring influence on Indian society and politics, saying, “Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s vision continues to guide us in the quest for equality, social justice, and progress. His efforts towards the empowerment of the downtrodden and his role in framing the Constitution of India have left an indelible mark on the nation.”
The event concluded with a pledge by BJP workers to continue striving for a society based on equality, justice, and brotherhood, reflecting the true spirit of Dr Ambedkar’s vision for India, the party said.
