Srinagar, Dec 03: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) chief spokesperson and MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq on Tuesday urged the government to ensure adequate supply of firewood to the registered mosques and shrines throughout Kashmir and the winter zone of Jammu region.
In a statement issued here, Tanvir highlighted the importance of providing sufficient firewood to mosques and shrines during winter.
Sadiq claimed that in previous years, there had been a lack of supply. “But with a people’s representative government now in power, it is crucial to ensure that all registered mosques and shrines receive the necessary firewood to meet their winter requirements,” he said.
The MLA Zadibal said, “As winter tightens its grip on Kashmir and the winter zone of Jammu, the mosques must be equipped with sufficient heating resources to ensure the comfort of worshippers during the chilly winter months. With temperatures dropping, the availability of adequate heating resources is crucial.”
Efforts must be made to swiftly distribute available firewood to the mosques most in need, prioritising those serving larger congregations,” he said adding, “Taking swift action will alleviate the strain on mosques, allowing worshippers to continue their religious practices in a warm and comfortable environment throughout the winter months.”
