Srinagar, Jan 02: Under its CSR Program “Green Campus Initiative”, J&K Bank presented a 14-seater E-Vehicle to Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) to make campus transit convenient for the students especially women and specially-abled.
The bank’s Zonal Head (Rajouri) Satish Kumar on Tuesday handed over the keys of eco-friendly vehicle to the University’s Vice-Chancellor Akbar Masood in presence of officials of the bank and university amid a huge round of applause.
Extending his heartfelt gratitude on the occasion, VC Masood said, “I am extremely grateful to the bank’s management for this kind gesture. The provision of these eco-friendly vehicles shall further ease the movement of differently-abled students in the campus.”
“J&K Bank has been proactive in helping to upgrade the socio-economic and education oriented infrastructure of the UT and has always been forthcoming in its support to BGSB University,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Zonal Head Satish Kumar said, “It gives me immense pleasure to present the vehicle as a humble contribution to ease the plying of students with focus on girls and specially-abled students within the university campus through eco-friendly modes of transportation which reiterate the bank’s resolve towards reducing the carbon footprint and contribute towards attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
He added, “The bank always tries to partner with credible and prestigious institutions like BGSBU to serve the society as such collaborations make our CSR interventions sustainable and more impactful.”
