Ganderbal, Dec 05: The two-day workshop on “Use of Modern Technology and Rajbhasha Hindi,” organised by the Rajbhasha Cell, Central University of Kashmir (CUK), for the administrative staff of the varsity, concluded at Green Campus here Tuesday.
Addressing the participants, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, asked the employees to implement the Rajbhasha Hindi in their official work and correspondence in letter and spirit. Highlighting the importance of organising such workshops, he said these events provide ample opportunity to the employees to gain knowledge from the experts about the readily available software and tools, used for translating the office work into Hindi. Prof. Zargar said that more such workshops would be organised in near future to keep the employees abreast about the technological advancements, which play an important role in promoting the Rajbhasha Hindi. “CUK remains committed to fostering linguistic diversity and promoting the use of Rajbhasha Hindi in all facets of its operations,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Indian Languages and Accessibility, Microsoft, Mr. Balendu Sharma, expressed gratitude towards the university administration, particularly the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, for allowing the conduct of the workshop. He said modern technology is playing a pivotal role in promotion of Rajbhasha Hindi and the university employees can seek help from the available software for completing their official work in Hindi language.
Controller of Examinations, Dr. Tanveer Ahmad Shah, in his address, asked the employees to remain updated with the modern technological advancements in order to achieve success in their professional and personal life. “Those reluctant to adopt modern technological interventions are bound to fail miserably,” he said. Dr. Tanveer emphasized the importance of promoting Rajbhasha Hindi in alignment with the government’s official language policy.
Hindi Adhikari, Dr. Sakina Akhtar, conducted the valediction programme and Asst Librarian, Ms Humma Ahanger proposed the vote of thanks.
