Srinagar, Oct 27: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha emphasized the importance of an education system that transcends mere academic success during the Medhavi Chhatra Samman Samaroh organized by the Amar Ujala Group at SKUAST Kashmir on Sunday.
Addressing the gathering, Sinha advocated for a well-rounded educational approach that nurtures leadership, lifelong learning skills, and values, enabling students to navigate and contribute meaningfully to a rapidly evolving global economy.
The Lieutenant Governor honored meritorious students from the 10th and 12th grades of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), commending their academic achievements. He particularly praised young women for outshining their male counterparts in the award tally, noting this shift as a positive sign of increasing academic engagement in the region.

In his address, Sinha encouraged students to leverage today’s competitive, knowledge-driven environment, urging them to pursue ambitions that align with India’s developmental goals, especially the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.” “The goal of education is not limited to numbers and rankings. It is about creating better human beings and future leaders who bridge the gap between the education sector and the needs of a globalized economy,” he stated.

Sinha also highlighted the vital role of lifelong skills in education, advocating for a focus that extends beyond traditional classroom learning. He called on the School Education Department, educational institutions, and teachers to promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills essential for adapting to future challenges.
“Our focus should be on fostering creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking. These skills will equip young people to tackle future challenges effectively,” he added.
