Jammu, Oct 17: In a thrilling contest at the BHSS Ground in Bijbehara, Jammu Division clinched their second consecutive victory in the U-19 Inter-Division Cricket Tournament 2024, defeating Kashmir Division by 15 runs on Thursday.
Jammu set a competitive target of 145 runs, with notable contributions from Ashutosh (37), Arman Sharma (34), and Aryan Dassi (23). Kashmir’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Sualib Tariq, who claimed 3 wickets, while Shahid Saleem, Faisal Ayoub, and Faizan Khurshid each took 2 wickets.
In their chase, Kashmir Division faltered, finishing 15 runs short. Rahil Mushtaq (24), Shahid Saleem (17), and Salman Khan (17) fought hard but couldn’t steer their team to victory. Jammu’s Waseem Zulfikar proved crucial, securing 4 wickets, with support from Takshdeep, Jatin, Sujal, and Arman, each taking one wicket.
Waseem Zulfikar was named Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling. This victory gives Jammu Division a solid 2-0 lead in the tournament.
