Anantnag, Oct 15: In a special drive against the use of pressure horns, the Traffic Police in Anantnag district of South Kashmir issued over 30 challans to violators, primarily targeting trucks, tippers, and dumpers.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Traffic, Mohammad Idrees, told Rising Kashmir that the operation was launched on Tuesday to curb the illegal use of pressure horns, which are a violation of traffic laws. During the drive, not only were the violators fined, but the offending devices were also removed from the vehicles.
“These drives will continue, and drivers are advised to refrain from using pressure horns and follow the law. Pressure horns exceed permissible decibel levels, making them illegal under traffic regulations,” the DySP added.
The traffic authorities said that such enforcement measures are aimed at ensuring safer and quieter roads for all commuters in the district.
