Srinagar, Oct 04: Multi-nutrient Block (MNB) Distribution programme was held for dairy farmers of district Srinagar by Division of Animal Nutrition, FVSc& AH, SKUAST-Kashmir under NABARD sponsored research project “Enhancing livelihood of dairy farmers in Srinagar through productivity augmentation by standardization and popularization of multi-nutrient block supplements for animal feeding”.
The event was held in continuation of distribution programmes with the aim to create awareness among dairy farmers about the animal feed supplement in the form of Multi-nutrient blocks. Multi-nutrient blocks prepared by the Animal Nutrition Division under the said project were distributed for the fourth time on the occasion free of cost among the sixty dairy farmers of the district.
Prof. Shayaib A. Kamil, Dean, FVSc& AH, Shuhama, SKUAST-Kashmir was the Chief Guest and Ms. Purnima Kakru, District Development Manager, NABARD was the Guest of Honour at the event. Dr. Yasir Afzal Beigh, Principal Investigator of the project gave an overview of the research activities taken so far, Ms. Purnima thanked the Division for their active approach in addressing the farmers’ issues and farmers gave positive feedback and phrased the efforts taken during the first three phases under the project. The programme ended with a vote of thanks.
