Srinagar, June 01: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) organized an orientation cum standard writing competition at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. The event saw enthusiastic participation from student members of BIS.
Resource persons Ms. Mehak Rasool and Ms. Sueeba Ayoub delivered comprehensive lectures covering the core activities of BIS, the significance of the ISI mark, hallmarking, the use of the BIS Care App, and the compulsory registration scheme. Their guidance was pivotal for students preparing for the standard writing competition.
The session concluded successfully, with the winners receiving cash prizes from the Head of Institution, Mr. Kanwar Singh. The first prize was Rs 1000, followed by Rs 750, Rs 500, and Rs 250 for the second, third, and fourth positions respectively. The event’s logistics, including refreshments and stationery, were coordinated by mentor Mrs. Pratibha Yadav and funded by BIS.
