Srinagar, Sept 22 Muzaffar Hussain Baig, former deputy chief minister and an independent candidate for the Baramulla assembly, stated that the abrogation of article 370 did not bring any significant benefits to Jammu and Kashmir. He argued that retaining the constitutional provision, which granted the region special status, would not have caused any tangible harm.
While speaking to reporters, Baig unveiled his election manifesto, focusing on improving Baramulla’s infrastructure. His promises include developing all-weather roads, recreation centers, health facilities, and waste management systems. Additionally, he emphasized enhancing post-harvest fruit technologies and launching cable car projects to boost tourism.
Baig also outlined plans for rehabilitating disillusioned youth, upgrading government schools, and addressing the region’s drug problem by establishing de-addiction centers.(KNS)
