Jammu, Sept 21: A delegation from the Shiv Sena (UBT), led by Jammu-Kashmir unit chief Manish Sahni, on Saturday met with Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, to discuss arrangements for the upcoming 42nd Holy Chhari Yatra.
During the meeting, the team honoured Garg by presenting him with a memento in recognition of the efficient organization of the Yatra.
Sahni, according to a party statement, also addressed recent concerns regarding the Prasad controversy at the Tirupati Balaji temple, labelling it an attack on the religious sentiments of millions of Hindus. He demanded strict legal action against those responsible and called for the liberation of Hindu religious places from government control.
In a media briefing in Katra, the Sena leader provided details about the Holy Chhari Yatra, scheduled to depart from Shri Raghunath Ji Temple in Jammu on October 2. “The procession will travel to Katra via the Kol Kandoli temple and Deva Mai, where the Holy Chhari and Akhand Jyoti will continue towards the shrine of Shri Mata Vaishnodevi, accompanied by chants of devotion. On October 3, coinciding with the first day of Navratri, the Chhari Poojan and Darshan of the Mother will take place at the holy cave,” he said.
Sahni urged devotees to participate in large numbers to seek the blessings of Mother Bhagwati. The Shiv Sena leaders commended the facilities provided by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, and they expressed their gratitude to Anshul Garg and his team for their efforts in ensuring a successful Yatra.
He condemned the Tirupati Balaji Temple Prasad incident as a serious betrayal of the Hindu faith and reiterated the call for Hindu religious sites to be free from government oversight. Other leaders present included Sanjeev Kohli (Vice President), Ashu Kumar (President, District Reasi), Ankush Sharma, and Ajay Kumar.
