Srinagar, Sept 21: Prasanna Ramaswamy G, IAS, Secretary to the Government of J&K’s Tribal Affairs Department, alongwith director Musheer Ahmad Mirza, JKAS & Additional secretary Mohammad LaƟf, JKAS, today visited the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) Kulgam located in Tangmarg village, Kulgam.
During the visit, the team engaged with the principal, staff and several parents to explore opportunities for enhancing the school’s functioning. A significant focus of the discussions was on integrating local knowledge into the curriculum, allowing students to connect with their tribal culture and traditions. This approach aims to enhance their understanding of age-old practices within their community while providing a modern educational experience.
Additionally, it was brought to the secretary’s attention that the land transfer for EMRS has not yet been completed, which is a pressing issue. The secretary acknowledged this concern and promised that immediate action will be taken to resolve the matter.
