Farooq welcomes PDP leader into NC

Srinagar, Sept 07: A delegation from Mendhar, led by former MLA and National Conference candidate Javaid Rana called on the party president Dr Farooq Abdullah at his residence in Gupkar.
During the meeting, dozens of political activists from Mendhar, including former general secretary and candidate of PDP, Advocate Morifat Khan, joined the NC, the party said in a statement, adding that Dr Farooq welcomed the new members into the party.
Mudassar Shahmiri, political Advisor to the party’s vice president and Shafayat Ahmed Khan, district president Rajouri were present at the occasion.
The joining, Dr Farooq said, will give a significant boost to the National Conference in the region and further strengthen its base on the ground.
