JK Assembly polls 2024: Modi, Shah, Adityanath to lead BJP’s election campaign

JAMMU, Aug 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a high-profile roster of star campaigners for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. The list includes key figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The final list of forty star campaigners was submitted to the Election Commission of India (ECI) by Arun Singh, National General Secretary, under letter No GS/HQ/17/4385. The BJP’s official communication notes that this list will apply to the remaining Legislative Assembly constituencies in schedules 2 and 3 of J&K unless an amended list is provided within the stipulated time frame.
Other notable campaigners include former Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Ram Madhav, Smriti Irani, Jai Ram Thakur, Bhajan Lal Sharma, Tarun Chugh, Ashish Sood, Gen VK Singh, and former Deputy Chief Ministers Kavinder Gupta and Nirmal Singh.
The exact dates for these leaders’ visits to Jammu and Kashmir will be finalised following the confirmation of the candidates’ names.
