Janata Dal United (JDU) President for Jammu and Kashmir, GM Shaheen, has announced that the party will participate in the upcoming Assembly elections in the J&K.
In addition to their electoral plans, Shaheen also called for the release of stone pelters and political prisoners in the region.
He emphasized that many of these individuals have been detained on flimsy grounds and that their release is necessary for peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The JDU has taken a significant step by forwarding a list of 840 stone pelters from South Kashmir, requesting that their detention be revoked. This move highlights the party’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the local population and promoting justice and equality in the region,” he said. (KNT)
