Shopian, August 14 : In an unprecedented display of patriotism, a Mega Tiranga Rally was held in Shopian on Wednesday, attracting around 10,000 participants.

Organized by the district administration, the rally was one of the largest events in South Kashmir in the lead-up to the 78th Independence Day celebrations.

Participants included students, civil servants, police and paramilitary officers, activists, civil society members, youth icons, teachers, and the general public.

Carrying the national flag, the crowd marched towards the Aglar Fruit Mandi, where the rally concluded. The event was part of the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, aimed at fostering patriotism and raising awareness about the National Flag of India.

The rally was led by District Magistrate Faz Lul Haseeb and SSP Shopian Tanushree, with active participation from ADDC, ADC, and other district officials.

The rally began with a signature campaign inaugurated by District Magistrate Haseeb. This was followed by a stirring rendition of the National Anthem, which resonated through the venue, evoking a deep sense of pride and unity among the participants.

A Tiranga Bike Rally was also integrated into the event, further adding to the atmosphere of patriotism.

Officials highlighted the rally’s success, noting that it not only celebrated the nation’s identity but also served as a powerful reminder of the collective strength and harmony that unite the country.
