Jammu, Aug 04: The Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA) will hold the 16th International Art Exhibition-2024 online in memory of the late Smt. Gobind Kour, the first contemporary woman sculptor of Jammu. The event will be inaugurated by Kala Bhushan Dr. Rajendra Singh Pundir, Chairman of Utkarsh Lalit Kala Academy, Lucknow and former State Minister of Uttar Pradesh, on August 11, 2024, at 11 AM. Pt. Kewal K Sharma, President of JKCCA, will be the guest of honor. The exhibition is curated by O P Sharma, Director of JKCCA.
Sharma emphasized that the exhibition will showcase works from veteran, senior, and young artists, serving as a tribute to Kour on her death anniversary. Under the guidance of Pt. Kewal K Sharma, JKCCA has dedicated itself to the arts for the past 25 years.
Smt. Gobind Kour, a portrait and abstract sculpture artist, studied under the eminent sculptor Vidya Rattan Khajuria. She participated in numerous exhibitions at state, regional, and international levels, earning accolades from prestigious organizations such as the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, and the Indian Academy of Fine Arts.
