Jammu, July 04: J&K Congress President Vikar Rasool Wani on Thursday said the Bharatiya Janata Party cannot face the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Congress in the Parliamentary debate and resorts to “hooliganism” on streets.
“They don’t believe in debate or dialogue in democracy and resort to cheap publicity tactics. Congress is ready to take on BJP in a democratic manner and would defeat their divisive politics in coming elections,” Wani said while chairing the District Congress Committee Jammu Urban meeting here to discuss the upcoming elections and the burning issues faced by the people. The JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikar accused the BJP of exploiting the sentiments of the people on various emotional issues for vote bank politics but utterly failed to deliver. He asked the party functionaries to make the people aware of the “communal agenda” of the BJP and defeat the “nefarious designs of communal, divisive and separatist forces”.
The JKPCC Chief hailed the people of the Jammu region for believing in togetherness and religious harmony “despite grave provocations by vested interests”.
Wani added, “The BJP government in its 10 years of rule under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ruined the country in every field. Every section of society is suffering due to its wrong policies and wrong decisions. The people of Jammu and Kashmir are the most sufferers. The Modi government has snatched the right of jobs and land from the people of J&K by downgrading a full-fledged state into a Union Territory. The property tax, toll plazas, smart meters, and unemployment have added more to the miseries of people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Raman Bhalla, in his address, criticised the BJP government for its “failure” to address the issues of unemployment, job scams and exploitation of people in the name of religion and caste. “The government’s policies have ruined the country in every field, and the people of Jammu and Kashmir are suffering the most,” he said.
He urged the Congress leaders and activists to educate the masses about the “failures” of the BJP government and to gear up for the next elections.
