Srinagar, June 21: The College of Temperate Sericulture at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm. The event saw active participation from students, faculty members, and supporting staff, emphasizing the importance of yoga for physical and mental well-being.
Prof K A Sahaf, Associate Dean of the College, inaugurated the event by highlighting the significance of yoga in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He encouraged everyone to incorporate yoga into their daily routines to achieve holistic health.
Dr I L Khan, Associate Professor, addressed the gathering, speaking about yoga as a potent health tool that promotes global harmony and peace.
Dr Z I Buhroo, NSS Program Officer of the college, expressed his appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of both staff and students.
The event also featured a practical session led by Jagjivan Ram, who guided participants through essential yoga exercises. His demonstration included various asanas (postures) and pranayama (breathing techniques), which are integral to achieving physical and mental equilibrium.
