Srinagar, Feb 15: A six-week development course on Python concluded at the University of Kashmir on Wednesday.
Python is a high-level, general-purpose programming language. Its design philosophy emphasizes code readability with the use of significant indentation.
The course was organised by Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) at KU’s Institute of Technology, Zakura Campus, to acquaint the students with in-demand skills, including Python.
On successful completion of the programme, the CIIE (Institution’s Innovation Council) felicitated the 24 student trainees.
Registrar Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir chaired the felicitation ceremony in presence of Director DIQA Prof Manzoor Ahmad Shah and Director IOT Zakura Prof Gowhar Bashir Vakil, who is also Chairman CIIE.
Coordinators Dr Abdul Mueed Hafiz, Dr Junaid Hassan Masoodi, Er Adil Mudasir, Dr Bilal Ahmad Malik (resource person of the course) and other faculty members were present on the occasion.
In his address, Dr Nisar spoke about CIIE’s commitment to provide a platform that boosts entrepreneurial skills among youth.
Prof. Vakil highlighted the objectives of the programme and motivated the trainees to become self-reliant. “CIIE aims to equip the youth of J&K with new skills and knowledge to help them secure a decent employment and contribute to strengthening the J&K UT’s economy,” he said.
Prof Manzoor Ahmad Shah highlighted the importance of Python language.
Dr Bilal Ahmad Malik, Theory Instructor, also spoke about the importance of the programming language in a growing economy.
Ms Uzma Maqbool, course theory and technical assistant CIIE moderated the session and highlighted how learning such languages can help students to become independent job creators. She also presented a vote of thanks.
The event was also attended by IOT, CIIE and NIF staffers and officials.
