Jammu, Mar 19: The Jammu and Kashmir government said that the Jal Shakti Department has substantially completed 25 out of the 51 schemes undertaken under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the Bhaderwah constituency of Jammu Division.

Responding to an un-starred question posed by Daleep Singh Parihar, MLA Bhaderwah, the Minister in charge of Jal Shakti said, “In Bhaderwah constituency, 51 schemes have been taken up under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), out of which execution of 25 schemes has been substantially completed.”

The government further said that against an estimated cost of Rs. 191.90 crore, an expenditure of Rs. 93.14 crore has been incurred so far, including Rs. 46.63 crore spent on procuring pipes for these schemes.

“Out of a total of 147 villages, 46 have been fully covered, 89 are partially covered with ongoing works, and 12 previously left out have now been identified and are under active consideration,” the government added.

Besides, the Gram Sabha has issued ‘Har Ghar Jal’ certification to 26 villages in the Bhaderwah constituency.

Notably, JJM is a flagship program launched by the Government of India to provide functional household tap connections (FHTCs) with potable water to every rural household.
