Srinagar, May 3: Over 50,000 candidates from Jammu and Kashmir are scheduled to appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) — NEET (UG) 2025 — on Sunday, May 4. The examination will be held at more than 128 designated centres across the Union Territory as part of the nationwide test organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
In preparation for the high-stakes medical entrance exam, the General Administration Department (GAD) of the J&K Government had, earlier in February, constituted committees to ensure the smooth, secure, and transparent conduct of NTA-administered examinations.
“All necessary arrangements have been completed at the Union Territory level,” an official associated with the coordination committee told this reporter. “The NEET exam will be conducted across multiple districts in both Kashmir and Jammu divisions.”
In Kashmir, examination centres have been set up in Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Kupwara, and Pulwama. In Jammu division, centres will operate in districts such as Jammu, Samba, Udhampur, and Kathua.
To ensure security and transparency, CCTV surveillance systems have been installed at all examination centres. Officials confirmed that the logistics and monitoring infrastructure have been fully put in place.
In an official statement, Pradeep Singh Kharola, Director General of the NTA, announced that the NEET (UG) 2025 examination will be conducted tomorrow between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM at 5,453 centres across India and in 13 international cities. A record 2.27 million candidates have registered to appear for the test.
Kharola also stated that all arrangements for the exam — including security measures and contingency protocols — are in place. “Mock drills were conducted earlier today at all exam centres to ensure preparedness,” he added.
The NEET (UG) examination is the country’s single largest medical entrance test for undergraduate courses in MBBS, BDS, and other allied programs, and is considered crucial for medical aspirants nationwide.
